|Valley Glen Council seeking new logo|

The Greater Valley Glen Council is holding a logo design competition open to high school and college students who study, live or work in the Valley Glen area.
The council is looking for a design that focuses on the neighborhood's civic diversity. The deadline for submissions is June 9.
City Councilwoman Wendy Greuel will present the winner with a certificate of achievement.

The American Animal Hospital Association honored Glendale's Hillcrest Pet Hospital for 25 years of membership at its recent yearly conference in Long Beach. Since 1981, Hillcrest has met the standards set forth by the association in areas from surgery to diagnostic imaging. The association is an international organization of more than 36,000 veterinary care providers. It is the only organization that accredits veterinary hospitals in the United States and Canada.
Students from Thousand Oaks High School won six first- and second-place trophies at the Miss Dance Drill National dance competition in Irvine earlier this month. The team won first place in the small lyrical and large hip-hop categories. They also took second in both small and medium jazz. As soloists, Sara Stark won in the junior category and Mariah Murphy in the freshman category. The champion team will perform May 5 in the Thousand Oaks High gym.
